Do's and Don'ts

Do's and Don'ts

Do's and Don'ts

I went searching for some do’s and don’ts on jewelry and this is what I found from Apples of Gold…

Jewelry is something almost every girl chooses to wear. Whether they want to look good, compliment their outfit, or simply do not leave home without their favorite bracelets, rings, and earrings, jewelry can make or break your look for the day. When picking jewelry to wear, you might think there isn’t much that can go wrong. Whether you have simple tastes or prefer something bolder, there’s not a lot of margin for error. However, there are certain things you have to look out for.

Bracelets

These are the easiest pieces of jewelry to pair but their simplicity can be misleading at times. The following are a few simple dos and don’ts about bracelets.

Dos and Don’ts

  • Wear statement bracelets. These look great if worn well.

  • Keep a charm bracelet or two for different occasions.

  • Have at least one simple, elegant bracelet for everyday wear.

  • Never pair statement bracelets with other statement jewelry pieces. They can be harder to match with outfits as well.

  • Never wear more than two or three bracelets on one hand. Even when you do, layer them with one charm bracelet, a simple one and another leather bracelet added.

  • Be careful of chunky bracelets. They only look good on certain people and can actually make your arm look chunkier too.

    Earrings

Earrings are trickier than bracelets but here are a few dos and don’ts about them too.

    Dos and Don’ts

    • Pick earrings that match your face shape. Certain earrings can make your head look squarer, round, or slimmer.

    • Hoop earrings are a safe option but be careful, large hoops can sometimes look odd if you have a small head.

    • Statement earrings can look classy or chic but they can be hard to pull off.

    • Never wear statement earrings with a statement necklace. They can be paired with a statement bracelet but some pieces may not go with the bracelet.

    • Colorful earrings are fun but don’t go overboard. Know when to tone it down and stop your ears from looking like signboards.

    • Don’t follow every trend you see. Certain celebrities can pull off statement earrings and more but you should pick earrings which suit you, not your favorite model or celebrity.

    Rings

Rings are one of the best ways to instantly jazz up your look with the least effort. The following are some dos and don’ts regarding them

    Dos

    • Statement rings can look amazing on your hands, drawing the eye more towards the clutch or anything else in your hands.

    • Simple and elegant rings can look good, making your fingers appear slimmer than they are.

    • Wear more than one ring. There really is no limit to the number of rings you can wear!

    • Avoid going overboard and do not layer too many rings on your hands.

    • Chunky rings can make your fingers look shorter. If you have short fingers, look for slender, elegant rings.

    Don’ts

    • Avoid going overboard and do not layer too many rings on your hands.

    • Chunky rings can make your fingers look shorter. If you have short fingers, look for slender, elegant rings.

What I will say about this is that do whatever the heck you want! I find that wearing jewelry is a person’s own artistic expression of themselves. I love what people wear and I love that there are women who love jewelry!

    Have a lovely weekend!
